Who we are
Dokuverse is made and published by A14A B.V., the Netherlands (“we”, “us”). [registered address and KvK number]
Using the game
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download Dokuverse from the App Store or Google Play and play it on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. The terms of the store you downloaded it from also apply. You don't need an account; the app uses an anonymous ID (see the privacy policy).
Credits
- Credits are a virtual item you can buy in the app. One credit unlocks one pack of 5 cases.
- You buy credits through Apple or Google, under their payment terms.
- Credits never expire.
- Credits have no cash value. They can't be exchanged for money, sold or transferred to someone else.
- A pack you unlock stays unlocked for as long as the game is available. Unlocking a pack you already own never costs a credit.
- Your credits and packs are tied to your anonymous ID and come back with your Apple or Google account on a new phone. If they don't, contact us with your support code.
Refunds
Apple and Google process all payments, so their refund policies apply. See the refund steps. If a purchase went through but didn't arrive in the app, contact us and we'll put it right.
Free content
The tutorial, the free cases and the current week's Monday case are free. Older weekly cases may later be bundled into Archive packs that are unlocked with credits. Hints are free and unlimited. We may add, change or retire free content over time, but we won't take away a pack you have unlocked with credits while the game is available.
Intellectual property
The game, its cases, characters, art, text and code belong to us or our licensors. These terms don't give you any rights to them beyond playing the game. Press and reviewers may use the materials in our press kit to cover Dokuverse.
Acceptable use
Please don't copy, resell or redistribute the game or its cases, tamper with purchases or the server, reverse engineer the app except where the law allows it, or use it in a way that harms other players or us. We may stop providing the game to anyone who does.
Disclaimers and liability
We work hard to make every case fair and the game reliable, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of bugs. To the extent Dutch law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
Right of withdrawal
Under EU consumer law you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase. For digital content supplied straight away, that right ends once supply starts, if you agreed to that when buying. [To be confirmed by legal: how the store purchase flow handles consent for credits.]
Governing law
These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you live in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
